Into The Great Wide Open Festival

Into The Great Wide Open takes place every year on Vlieland, a small island in the Waddensea. With it’s stages spread out all over the island, so close to nature, it is unlike any other festival. After 5 succesful editions they asked me to be their very first artist in residence, meaning that I was responsible for all visual communication that year. Insepired by all processes that take place on an island I started working on a collection of drawings, that slowly evolved into a campagne. Small things I found while walking around the island suddenly served as big parts of a visual language, thereby making the ecosystem of the island part of the festival and vica versa.
